Why? |

Did I love them
so much?
... remember them,
and always!
Why? ... Ohhhhhh Why?
... anthems... sounding... sounding... aloud
... within me,
and I... forget the worn, and torn wreckage
of my heart.
The Soldier I was,
was,... once there... with them,
and without a home,
always, ... so
weary, and without a home,
... and alone!
Why do old Soldiers
remain at War?
... fighting battles
so long ago... and forgotten?
Why?
When our strength and vigilance
failed.,
do we hold them,
and carry them,
Home?
In tears,
and in boxes, .WE
carried them home.
To a place of rest,
and sacred memory.
A place to be silent,
and ... alone!
A place in the heart
called... Home!
Why?
Because we carried them ... and
Loved them.
Carried them within our heart toward a sacred place...
