WAR

After viewing The Movie: “GLORY”
A TALE OF THE CIVIL WAR

I’ve never known of war
I’m, not BRAVE or STRONG, just tall
6’8” doesn’t make one’s stature
Some very tall men are small

“Misdirected ‘LOVE’ ”
I once said
Has been cause
To see many dead

Brother often fighting, brother or friend
Will any WAR really finds its end
Is it so difficult for men to see
WAR is not what makes men free

Please, my friend, don’t misunderstand
As long as there’s evil throughout our land
A battle cry, must needs be heard
As men refuse to acknowledge the Wisdom in Gods Word

And it is to these men we attribute words like BRAVE and STRONG
To the real HEROES of life such words belong
Whose flesh is strewn on Land and Sea
That I might write what I feel to be

That each of us
Have reached this day
Which allows us all
To have our say

Stand firm my friend
Whenever you see
A person in uniform, come into view
For they pay a price for me and you

This includes all Firemen, Policemen and some
Whom the knowledge of is yet to come
But the real WAR’S end can only come, my friend
When we reach life’s BATTLE, at life’s end

Wherein if surrendered
Completely to Christ are we
There will be FREEDOM, REST and PEACE
