War and Tragedy

Warcountry as flag - small
Walking amongst a battlefield of death
I am met by ravaged corpses so still.
Men and boys have paid the ultimate price
Death has claimed their souls with its mystic chill.

Dreams lie shattered and families destroyed
By violence that they never understood.
They met death with a determination
Hoping they had done all that they could.

Memories of brothers and fathers must suffice
For families sobbing while they lay in bed.
They can only hope that they had died quick
Had not had to suffer while their life fled.

Wars eternal damnation of our men
To live and die for a country they love
Will haunt thousands of families forever
But they’ll seek comfort from His Lord above.
