In Memory of Those Who Died and Suffered on 9/11/01That September Daycountry as flag - small
Darkness struck in the name of evil
on September 11, 2001,
causing the deaths
of so many innocents
in the planes, Pentagon, and twin towers,
being joined by the brave ones
who came to the rescue,
knowing their possible fate.

Their fellow citizens mourned
along with the grief stricken
loved ones and friends
with all resolving
to stand strong against
those who chose to attack
our principles, way of life,
and freedom to be.

Awakened on this tragic day,
our country now goes forward
to end this demonic scourge
no matter where it may lurk,
always remembering
what did occur
and to prevent
what is still planned.
