Soldiers Home Coming

A soldier came home
from Iraq today.
Watched the news
to see what they had to say.
This is what he saw,
as he sat to rest.
Happy to be
on the land he loves best.
"Bombing, more killing,
more murders, more rapes.
What's the Army doing,
for heavens sake?"
A Senator says,
"This war should not be.
Bring our soldiers home
immediately.
It is a war
we can never win,
It is another Vietnam
we are in."
The soldier sees this
and is very sad.
He thinks, "I'm on front lines,
and I'm , oh, so glad
To fight to keep
Terrorist from our land,
For you to be free,
I'm taking a stand,
The things I see on
The news today
hurt us soldiers in
a very great way.
We feel our news
does not tell it right,
For our freedom,
we'll continue to fight.

The news does not spread
the good that is done.
They say we are
not helping anyone.
Because of us, yes,
thousands were able to vote,
while terrorist
were ready to cut their throats.
Why doesn't the news tell
the good we do?
such as schools, hospitals,
and Power Plants, too
Oh, tell me why doesn't
any news tell?
Things like outhouses
we built, as well.
Before then, they
used a hole in the ground.
and did their business
wherever they found.

All of this - the great
good - The news should tell
See, they did not have
those freedoms, you know,
until we were ordered
to Iraq go.
Everyone understand,
we love our land.
We vowed to protect
Mighty USA.
We'll protect her
till our last day.
I pray, "Oh, Lord please
help folk in our land
to pray, stand by us,
and, yes, understand.
We must always fight
for our liberty,
So future generations
can live free.
In the land of the brave
and that you could
our Flag Proudly Wave."
