Forgotten Unforgotten |  |
| Ohio has many face's,
White, Black, Rich, Poor
Many come from numerous backgrounds,
Some worth talking about, others almost ashamed
One thing is for certain though,
Everyone of them has a common bond,
That bond-
Knowing a loved one, a friend/comrade, or even a stranger
As a POW/MIA
It is a painful reminder that needs to be enforced
These men fought for, and sacrificed for, what we as Americans
Live for today... Freedom.
They went to war to do what had to be done,
Although a lot of people didn't, and still don't...
almost to the point of refusal, understand
Try saying that to these men whose names you see before you.
Take time to look at these names, think of what it was like for them,
What they had to endure, some most unimaginative situations
Tell THEM you don't understand!
Then came a group of very compassionate people
That knows and understands the reasons they fought for.
They have dedicated themselves to getting the word and reason
Out to hundreds, even thousands of people from all walks of life
That these unforgotten will NEVER be forgotten.
Upon this Memorial Wall are the names
Of the men who fought proudly and endlessly,
Ending in the ultimate sacrifice.
Grieve you may, but don't feel sorry, no way
For these men are on the other side, smiling,
With a joyful tear in their eye,
Seeing the result for which they are here today.
What ever reason that may be, only they know.
The men and women behind this Memorial-
One with a special connection, one with ties,
Yet the others with the care and deep compassion for the cause at hand.
Although it is closer to see a date of return beside several names,
The job will never cease until complete closer comes for
Every name on this Memorial.
As far as there is air to breathe,
These gentlemen WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!
