Student Patriots at USA Patriotism!

My Freedom

I laid my head down
On your pillow, missing your warmth
Wishing that you never had to go

They all blame Mr. President
Not realizing the reward
Only focused on the cost

I understood what it meant
To worry for you
Wondering whether
I should held on longer
Kissed you one more time

Looking at your picture
From our vacation last spring
To see your smile
Makes my heart melt
And tears fall

I miss holding your hand
I miss your laugh
I miss your know-it-all look
I miss you
With all my heart

I feared the phone
The voice on the other end
Sympathetic
Sorry
Dropping to my knees

I cried all night
In a misery
wishing it would end
All I lived for
Is now gone
