Men of Valor

I see the distant flames,
They bellow in the night,
On that battlefield,
Is where in lies the fight.
Wave after wave of enemy,
Plummets down the slope,
I am at the bottom,
And haven't a shred of hope.
I tell my men to steady,
And may God be with them all,
Of all the men around me,
I was the first to fall.
Tell my family I love them,
That's all that I can do,
Tell them on the battlefield,
I died for the Red, White, and Blue.
