Student Patriots > Poem War and Tragedy | | |
| The Forgotten War |
| For I am dead, that life should be just a mere completion of my thoughts.
For I fought the brave, I fought the small, I fought the warriors of the sun.
With submachine guns and dead canteens, cold and starvation were kin to me.
And with no merit, like in that war, my body stiff in a coffin returned.
Because the powers craving revenge, displacement and sadness brought it to an end. | Javier 12th Grade Copyright 2005 Listed 10/05/2006 Poem "recognized for creative excellence" by School District of Lee County, Ft. Myers, FL |
