| The Fallen | |
| Flag bearer unfurl your flag- Bugler blow taps mournfully on your horn- For another son of God and country- Will grace the land where he was born.
To live beneath its precious soil- For all eternity- So that the ones who live above- Perhaps will all be free.
But tell me why he had to die- One who was so very young- Are we not all God's creation- Put here since time begun.
To live in peace and help each other- To share the wonders he provides- The very air we breathe- The endless beauty of the sky.
The vast and wide wide oceans- That spans from shore to shore- It seems that all we have in common- We seem to consciously ignore.
For if we learn to live in peace- All flags will in freedom fly- The bugler will blow a happy tune- No young men will in battle die.
Mothers and fathers will have no need- To mourn for their lost son- The soil beneath the soil above- Will shelter long lives peacefully done. | By Claude Dhuet Copyright 2006 Listed 11/27/2006 |
