Beneath the Crosses Where Brave Men Lie | |
| Beneath the crosses arranged in neat array, Lies these brave soldiers forever there to stay, In this strange land who will be their tomb, Nevermore to see the land that was their home.
Surrounded by companions here they lie, All in battle's fury did the die, Hoping for the bugler's blare to put an end, To the desperate fight they couldn't win.
But the bugler's blare it never came, Nor a foot of ground did the battle gain, But the grim reaper in full splendor had his day, And here these brave men will here forever stay.
So bow your head in homage pray, All hate and wars have forever had their day. | By Claude Dhuet Copyright 2006 Listed 11/27/2006 |
