A Mother's Herocountry as flag - small
How proud this mother must be,
that her son defended the land of the free.

Tears of joy must have fell on the day of his birth,
I'm sure this is when she learned what life was worth.

The unborn child that she carried,
she never thought she'd watch be buried.

Devastated by his death,
She takes a deep breath.

She stands there looking at him in awe,
I'm sure angels above him is what she saw.

At that moment about her was grace,
a peacefulness had come over her face.

As tears fell from her eyes,
She struggled with her last goodbyes.

Her eyes began to swell,
letting go of a hero she knew so well.

She must know she's been blessed,
being the mother of a hero known as America's best.

This hero did what he had to do,
He paid the price for the Red, white and Blue.

This brave soldier who took the fall,
stood for dignity, honor and freedom for all.
