| Why Did You Have To Go? |
Sitting on the end of my bed
Staring at your picture
Wiping the tears away
Why did you have to go?
I've faced the sun,
the moon and the stars
Just wondering
Why did you have to go?
My hands tremble
As I set your picture
Back down
Why did you have to go?
But sitting in broken glass
You still smile up to me
Eyes glowing blue
Why did you have to go?
I need that answer
I need it bad
Tired of just wondering
Why did you have to go?
They won't tell me
Anything straight
It's all a big blur
Why did you have to go?
I'm not a child anymore
Don't they see I've grown
You always knew. So
Why did you have to go?
Each breath I take
Each beat of my heart
I really miss you
Why did you have to go?
I'm lost
And I struggle
Because you're not here, so
Why did you have to go?
I visited your grave
Just the other day
Forgetting that your not really there
Why did you have to go?
Saying a prayer
And crying some more
I stayed there all night long
Why did you have to go?
God asked and you responded
Knowing that it was your turn
After all this time I finally understand
Why you had to go. |
