The Person Behind The Namecountry as flag
Who is the person behind the name?
That person may have been a Father, Brother, Son, Uncle, or a Friend...
That person may have been a Mother, Sister, Daughter, Aunt, or a Friend.
The person behind the name,
may have been a schoolmate, Someone you have passed on a busy street,
Or was dying to meet, or even date.
He or she may have been young or old,
happy or sad.
They may have had a family, fiancé,
Plans for a wonderful life.
Writing home to keep up with the days events and news
With smiles longer than could be imagined,
Kept them going for that moment frozen in time.
The person behind the name,
even though in a place so far away,
still did his or her best to live day by day,
whether it may have been
a "quiet" moment to reflect about home,
playing baseball with a stick and fruit,
or just letting it all out with a lonesome cry.

The person behind the name,
A POW, an MIA,
However spelled,
WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!
The person behind the name
Sacrificed his or her lives so that we can be free.
The person behind the name...
Endured indescribable situations and circumstances,
The kind to make the weak...weaker,
The saddened...sadder,
The faithful...unfaithful.

But through it all they stayed strong in their own way.
Not having a clue that someday there would be a great,
Black granite wall in Washington, D.C.
That stands proud and tall
Through Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.
The person behind the name,
Etched so finely, so neatly, in great care and detail,
In honor and remembrance of all they have done for us...
Americans.

The person behind the name,
Just like you and I...
A Father, Mother Brother, Sister, Daughter, Son, Uncle, Aunt...
Friend.

The person behind the name,
WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!
