Please God
(A Prayer For Our Soldiers)

Praying Hands
Please God, watch over my Child, Bring him home to me
I can’t go on without him, I miss him terribly
I sometimes close my eyes, and see him standing there
I reach out to touch him, but he disappears in thin air
to the dreaded Soil his body sleeps upon
God, please bring home my baby, my one and only son

Please God, Watch over my brother, Bring him home to me
I can’t go on without him, I miss him terribly
My brother is only twenty the age for having fun
But instead, he is fighting a battle, in the foreign sun
I hope he knows I love him and I think of him a lot
Please God; bring him home, for it’s a long war he’s fought

Please God, Watch over my Husband, Bring him home to me
I can’t go on without him, I miss him terribly
Being the Wife of a soldier, is a really hard thing to do
sitting there at night, wondering if they will come back safe to you
I pray to you every time the phone rings hoping it isn’t the call
Saying that my husband isn’t coming home at all

Please God, Watch over my Daddy, Bring him home to me
I can’t go on without him, I miss him terribly
I know sometimes I don’t listen to him, I know I was sometimes bad
But I will be a better person if you bring home my dad
Mommy cries a lot to, she says she misses his touch
So please bring him home, we love him so much

Bless all the soldiers that stand up, to keep us all free
We can’t go on without them…. We miss them terribly.
