Our Fighting Men

Some say he's a young boy,
not quite yet a man.
Just fresh out of high school
his life has just began.

Now he's serving his country
in some far off foreign land.
He will defend his country
don't ever misunderstand.

He may not be old enough
to take an alcoholic drink.
He'll stand up to the enemy
even if taken to the brink.

So I say to all those out there
that think that their not men.
Imagine if you were in their place
and they were at home again.

Remember they defend our rights
to the freedom some take for granted.
Even those who don't agree
or those who are disenchanted.

I say to all our fighting troops
and the families of those who died.
I see the way they serve our country
that it makes me swell up with pride.
