| Ode To A Marine |  |
| In a crowd he’s bound to be spotted,
Standing so very tall;
Having seen and done it all.
His hair is short; his eyes’ sharp
But his smile's warm and true
It’s the only indication
Of what he's gone through.
Belonging to a brotherhood,
Semper Fi 'til the end.
Having walked right into battle
And walked back out again.
Many people think it’s foolish
having no regrets
About having lived through many times
Others would forget.
Being first to go and last to leave,
Never questioning why
On whether it is right or wrong,
But only do or die.
Yes, having chose to live a life
With the thought of freedom in mind
It’s a small price to pay
That many wouldn’t make
Knowing well the time that was called
Wondering when you’re coming back.
While standing proud and true,
Remembering what you and others stood for
Fighting for the Red, White and Blue
Doing your duty to your country,
Here and overseas
As the years go by, it can be seen
