As he looked ahead he knew he had a job to do
as he grabbed his bag with his name.
He said to himself this won't be like home.

He picked up his gun and said a little prayer
and remembered what his family had all said as he left...
"We love you and are awaiting your return."

As he held back the tears,
he took a step and said,
"I am one step closer to going home
to my family who are waiting with their open arms."
