As I was saying my prayers,
just before my sleep.
I prayed to the Lord for angels,
thousands of tens deep.

For you see, we have so many,
who need one all their own.
To guide them through safely,
and bring them on home.

Their children need angels,
to help them on, too.
And mommies, and daddies...
and maybe even....you?

I was lifted like a feather,
whisked away on a cloud.
To a place so sand covered,
it looked like a shroud.

The angel leading me,
was smiling so bright.
I could see in her face,
the most Heavenly delight.

For on closer inspection,
of the scene below.
I saw hosts of angels,
both come and go.

I hope my journey leaves you,
with a little less fear.
They were following closely,
all those we hold dear.

God is safe in our hearts,
right where our loved ones lie.
But His angels are all 'round them,
not missing a single sigh.
