| Guardians of The Wall |
|
| Polished black granite, a most honorable sight, Reflections of beauty, aglow in the night. People will come from lands far away, An annual trek or 'just this once' some will say.
I visit here daily, most often don't leave, Watching and waiting for a Brother who'll need, A shoulder to lean on as tears silently fall. For him we stand Sentry, Guardians of The Wall.
Our missions long over, the jungles reclaim, Footprints of lost comrades, some Brothers remain. For them we patrol, believing they'll find, This place where we gather, united for all time.
America, we thank you, the honors now known. Long taken for granted, now carved in this stone. Names of your Heroes, for you we stand tall, We'll forever march proudly, Guardians of The Wall. | Lynn Price Copyright 2005 Listed 1/19/2006 http://www.silverstarfamilies.org |
