| God Is Nigh | |
| In the stillness of the night, As the moon spreads its silvery beams, A battle-weary soldier spills out his plight To the One who intervenes.
Death has come to many a friend. The struggles try his soul. Will this war never end? It has certainly taken its toll.
"Lord, guide my steps and keep us safe As the bullets start to fly. I'll trust you, Lord. Increase my faith; Oh, may it never die!"
His prayer ended, he breathes a sigh He knows the night will be long. But he takes comfort, Knowing God is nigh, And patiently waits for dawn. | By Christine Kidd Copyright 2004 |
