Defenders Of Dreams And Light |  | Between our dreams and the starlight,
your time-line wafts throughout
the eons of wars and peace-keeping strolls.
We hear you chanting a hopeful prayer,
your thoughts of dying young so well-expressed.
Between our dreams and the twilight,
you are transported on the wings of an Eagle
that fly you to much safer places
inside the memory where laughter reigns
far from the nightmare of untimely deaths.
Between our dreams and the moonlight,
we see you in a halo of brilliance
kept alive by our collective breaths.
You crouch behind barriers of sand
while stray bullets slay our illusions of peace.
Between our dreams and the sunlight,
you are the one bright beam
that echoes over the waves of the sea
and into our hearts of anguish and pain
as you sing the song of our freedom's cause.
Yes, you are the stars of our night
as you sing of our freedom's fight.
Your courage always an inspiring sight,
your sacrifice cementing our freedom's right.
