America's Young Warriors

country as flag - small
We were young, and were not tested
For this war so far away,
Where days were hot, and the nights were cold
Its heat you bear all day.

We fought this war to free a land
From Hussein and his two sons,
The people killed and beaten
By atrocities done with guns.

This sickness spread throughout the land
Its Neighbors gave not a damn,
The people died by thousands at the hands
Of the one called Saddam.

His family lived as royalty
While the people were despaired,
They loved this land of Scriptures
Wanting leadership that cared.

Now this war is over
What we've left has just begun,
Saddam's in prison, his two sons killed
Now the people will soon be one.

But we found out soon
Freedom's misunderstood,
To be free from a tyrant's yoke, they found
There must first be brotherhood.

Our God, your Allah who understands
Man abides by the laws of man,
But to Moses, He gave The Ten Laws
We must live by, and respect for this Holy Land.

There is but one God written
In the Bible, Koran and Torah,
Their Living Words direct us
As we live beneath His Aura.

Your Schools are built, the hospitals too
Pure water flows, your wells not dried,
Your lights, your laws, your country too
Did you thank us as our young folk died?

With this thought we leave your land
In hope we've helped your cause,
But please, before you go to war again
Ask our God to give you pause...
