A Soldier's Sorry

I’m sorry for the ones I’ve hurt,
For doing what I do.
For fighting for my country,
And colors RED, WHITE, and BLUE.

I’m so sorry that freedom isn’t free,
But keeping your rights is up to people like me.

I’m sorry to my family and friends,
But I’m doing this for you.
To make sure you have your freedom,
Is what soldiers have to do.

I know that you don’t like it,
For there’s a chance I could die.
But just incase before I go,
These words I would like you to know
I’m sorry and goodbye.
