An American Knightcountry as flag - small
An American Knight in corporate amour
Showered me with letters
Wooed with me warm demeanors and flatteries
Befitting a lady of our century.

Silver-tongued, silver-starred warrior,
Decorated for acts of bravery, in Somalia and Iraq,
He chose the way ahead, and showed me
It was safe to follow, despite the memories
Of land-mines where the heart's ordinances
Were never clear.

In letters written for the cause of allegiance
Of two hearts
He shares his dreams with me,
And I listen, knowing this man
Sees the terrain ahead,
And takes my hand
Demanding my own bravery in return.
