It has always been
from when independence did begin,
remaining strong and very real,
regardless of how we
individually feel
about what should be.It is engrained in our self-determined role,
going forth to do our best
and doing what it takes to keep America whole
even under the most difficult test.
It helps to make us who we are
and has allowed the USA
to be freedom's shining star,
lighting the way
for the unfortunate many
to escape cruel tyranny.
It is American resolve
that will continue to evolve
to meet what might come
