| Amid the families, I am a myth Amid the soldiers, I am their testable fate Amid the ancestors, I am a reality Amid the first shots, my services are called
Amid the regiment, I follow dutifully Before their deaths, I pray for them At their deaths, I carry their weight Amid lost souls, I am their patron
Amid the darkness, the light for all Amid crying relations, another one who cries Amid the demons of earth, fearless angel The duty lies on my shoulders For I am a patriot | Richard 12th Grade Copyright 2006 Listed 11/14/2006Poem "recognized for creative excellence" by School District of Lee County, Ft.
