easily seen day and night,
in actions, words, and deeds
by all… regardless of beliefs and needs.
It is trying to make things better,
Expressing your thoughts in a letter,
Going to the church of your choice,
Joining together in one voice,
Disagreeing over a certain course,
Being part of the most productive work force,
Striving for more,
Serving our country in war,
Extending a helping hand,
Protecting the homeland,
Drawing a line in the sand.
The American spirit is most nobly on display
by the troops at home and far away.
It is each of us in our own unique way,
celebrating our country's birthday…
and remembering the fallen on Memorial Day. |
