| | I Am A Soldier Too | | Please do not forget us, we are the ones that get left behind. While you sleep I am often awake filled with worry. As you start each day with your loved one, I start mine alone. And sometimes, I feel like I am a soldier.
I didn't sign up to fight. I will have no parade held in my honor. Though I sacrifice each day, There are no medals no high awards But, sometimes, I feel like I am a soldier.
I gave this country my best, I have fought the good fight. I am often called the spouse of a soldier. Yet, sometimes I feel like I am a soldier.
Find a way to honor me for I have a part in your freedom too. I stand proud I look straight ahead. I will fight to the very end. Sometimes I feel like I am a soldier.
Think of me when you think of our soldiers far away. When you wave the flag to honor our own wave it high for me. I am the family that is left behind. And I know that I am a soldier too. | Janna Rowe Copyright 2004 |
