| The Underground Railroad |
| Slaves were used to work on farms. They worked all day and slept in barns.
The master was extremely mean, He wouldn't let them learn or dream.
The slaves escaped so they would be free, They had to sleep under bushes and trees.
The Underground Railroad, a secret clan, Using secret symbols and messages, To help the slaves escape to a new land.
When they were finally free, They were filled with glee. | Vanessa 2nd Grade Copyright 2005 Listed 10/05/2006Poem "recognized for creative excellence" by School District of Lee County, Ft. Myers, FL |
