| Old Glory |
| Old Glory, Old Glory My heart skips a beat as I watch you wave. A tingling feeling starts as I pledge my allegiance to you. My loyalty will never die.
I am no longer afraid. I am only proud, Of your stars from the heavens, And the liberty you have found.
Oh, so beautiful, Oh so free, As you wave in the wind, My heart fills with glee.
Your red stripes symbolize your courage and hardiness, And it is true as you helped us find our independence. Your blue symbolizes justice for all, Which is what our country stands for.
My American Flag, you fly higher than the rest, Your colors embrace me like a child in a mother's arms. You make me feel safe. You make me proud to be an American. | Leah 6th Grade Copyright 2006 Listed 11/14/2006Poem "recognized for creative excellence" by School District of Lee County, Ft. Myers, FL |
