| The 4th of July | 
|
| Today this nation celebrates
The 4th of July,
With parade, and with fireworks
lighting up the sky.
Today commemorates the birth
Of freedom in this land,
Freedom from oppression,
With Father in command.
Our Founding Fathers dreamed it,
And wanted it to be
A nation filled with people
Who loved true liberty,
And so they sought for guidance
From the Father of us all,
And guided by the Spirit,
They answered heaven's call.
They wrote the Declaration
Of Independence then,
And everyone accepted it,
And signed it with their pen.
They knew what they were doing,
And prayed that it would be
A unifying document that
Would one day set them free.
They pledged their sacred honor to
Uphold this document,
Because they knew within their hearts,
It was from heaven sent.
They lost their lives defending
This land of liberty,
And many others also died
To set this nation free.
And we, their benefactors,
Should honor them today,
And show our thanks and gratitude for
The good old USA,
And pledge allegiance to the Flag
That flies o'er land and sea,
And to the cause of freedom,
And our sweet liberty.
America, America,
God bless thee evermore,
And may His peace rest over all
From shore to sandy shore,
That we, His sons and daughters,
May win the battle here,
Against the powers of darkness which
We fought in heaven's sphere.
And help us, Father, help us
To keep this nation free,
That we may be an ensign
For all the world to see,
An ensign and a God-send,
Of patriots, tried and true,
Who love this land, America,
