Suozzi and members of the Glen Cove council and community during a memorial wreath laying ceremony in honor of two-time Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Maj. Daniel "Dan" J. Daly, a native of Glen Cove, at his memorial, June 6.
Recruiting Station New York, Garden City, NY (June 6, 2009)--Sgt. Maj. Fenton Reese, Capt. Robert Germino, members of the 1st Marine Corps District Color Guard, stand along side Mayor Ralph V. Suozzi and members of the Glen Cove council and community during a memorial wreath laying ceremony in honor of two-time Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Maj. Daniel "Dan" J. Daly, a native of Glen Cove, at his memorial, June 6. Following the memorial ceremony, there was an award citation and presentation of the key to the city to honor Reese. "It made me feel special [to partake in this event] not only as a Marine, but as a New Yorker," said Reese. "You can feel [the community's] appreciation and pride for their servicemembers. Not only are they honoring me, but all the veterans. I'm proud to be that symbol and represent all servicemembers."  Photo by Sgt. Jin Hyun Lee
