MOBILE, Ala. (Sept. 2, 2005) - Lt. j.g. Shay Williams, of Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans, carries a small child from the Superdome in New Orleans into a rescue helicopter today.  The Coast Guard continues to rescue survivors of Hurricane Katrina and transport them to safer areas.

A U.S. Navy air crewman assigned to Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron 15 (HM-15) helps a mother and her baby board an MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter on Sept. 2, 2005. HM-15 is embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), which is participating in humanitarian assistance operations led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in conjunction with the Department of Defense.09/02/05

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt.Corella looks for stranded New Orleans, La., residents during a search and rescue mission on Sept. 4, 2005. Corella is an HH-60 Gunner with the 55th Rescue Squadron from Nellis AFB, Nevada. Numerous Air Force search and rescue crews are flying twenty-four hour operations rescuing residents of New Orleans that have been stranded in their homes due to flooding following Hurricane Katrina.09/02/05
