PARWAN PROVINCE, Afghanistan (AFPN) -- Staff Sgt. Ed Vaillancourt passes out socks during an adopt-a-village visit here.

Airmen from nearby Bagram Air Base often distribute supplies to the local village. Sergeant Vaillancourt, from Denmark, Maine, is deployed from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz.

Baby Noor's grandmother and father take the infant, who has spina bifeda, from a 386th Air Expeditionary Wing C-130 Hercules to awaiting transportation. Officials from the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait met the family and escorted them to a civilian airport, from where the Iraqi family will continue their journey to the United States.12/30/05
