The Hornet, assigned to the "Silver Eagles" of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 115 (VMFA-115), is part of Carrier Air Wing 3 (CVW-3), embarked upon Truman.

U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division Soldiers jump from C-17 Globemaster IIIs over Landing Zone Sicily, Ft. Bragg, N.C., during Joint Forcible Entry Exercise (JFEX), on April 5, 2005. JFEX is a U.S. Army and Air Force joint airdrop exercise designed to enhance inter-service cohesiveness.

JFEX gives both services an opportunity to properly practice movements of large-scale, heavy equipment and troops.
