Citizen Reign - Allen Wright, Sam Hickey, Patrick Antal and Ryan VergaraFight for Me

Performed by Citizen Reign
Allen Wright, Sam Hickey, Patrick Antal and Ryan Vergara
(To The Fallen Records artists)

Written by Sam Hickey / Copyright 2006

An original song in tribute to the brave, honorable men and women of the US military who have fought and are fighting in the Middle East . . . and the fallen ones.

"Fight For Me" Lyrics

Verse 1

You stand to fight and we agree,  until we see your brothers bleed

You give your life to hold the line,  then we change our minds

Pre Chorus

Afraid to say that you'd come home this way

Chorus

I stand to give you my applause, how could you fight for a better cause

Opposed by those that you've set free still you fight for me.

Verse 2

We hold our signs of war and peace,  they seem to change so easily

While passing judgment from our homes,  in foreign lands you roam

Pre Chorus

Ashamed to say what you'd die to save

Chorus

I stand to give you my applause, how could you fight for a better cause

Opposed by those that you've set free still you fight for me.

Chorus 2
I stand to give you my applause, how could you fight for a better cause

Opposed by those that you've set free still you fight for me.

To all the soldiers don't you know,  you'll always be the worlds heroes

As long as we have enemies,  still you fight for me.

Sam Hickey Explains...

How Citizen Reign Came To Be
"I joined the Marines in July of 1997. When I later switched to the Reserves, I started playing music again in one band after another, each project better than the last. Allen and I went to high school together. Ryan and Patrick were both found via internet classifieds. The band was not necessarily a military endeavor and we hadn't planned on having a military presence. After writing this song however, we couldn't ignore the response from so many touched individuals."

Why He Wrote "Fight for Me"
"I wanted to write about something other than heartache or some girl. I have always been patriotic, and after seeing a news report one evening, I decided to write about the troops. Once I started, it just wrote itself in about 20 minutes. I really want to explain that I don't prefer to state my opinions about this war specifically, except to say that war in general is never ideal. However, this song is simply a tribute to the troops who are willing to fight, whether the government is making good decisions or not."
