Navy Cross recipient 1st Sgt. Justin D. Lehew, company first sergeant, Company C, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), recounts March 23, 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom when his amtrac unit was engaged in heavy fighting in An Nasiriyah. Lehew was awarded the Marine Corps' second highest medal for his heroic actions that day.
