Well, the next thing I found myself doing was expressing more thoughts as a parent of a troop in a new patriotic poem, We Are Their Parents.  I hope it gives all a better idea of the mindset of most parents of troops in harm's way.

And you might also have a better sense how parents of troops serving in Vietnam felt when their boys returned home to the unfair scorn by so many of their fellow citizens for reasons that were not the fault of any marine, soldier, airman, or sailor.
