If My People
“If My People” has
hidden images in it. Look for the neglect, warfare, sacrifice
tragedy and the evil... then look for the hope, healing, life and
prayer. And who is mending the flag? (Click on “If My People” to
find out about each hidden image with close-up views and more.)

Impressions of Old Glory
“Old Glory” appears to float in the
darkness, suspended only by the cross on which it rests. Its battle
colors, tatters and bullet holes speak of the great battle raging
for the soul of our nation. Through the symbolism of the flag
folding ceremony, “Impressions of Old Glory” represents the
principles of faith on which our country was founded. Beginning at
the lower portion of the painting and progressing upward, the 25
hidden symbols in the painting depict the meaning of each fold of
the flag during a traditional flag folding ceremony described in the
text below. Only the explanations of the hidden pictures have been
added. (Click on“Old Glory” to learn more about the hidden
symbols.)

School Daze
“School Daze” challenges us to examine
what we teach and what we are taught. The one-room schoolhouse seems
typical, but upon further investigation you will find a tension
between right and wrong, absolute truth and subtle error . . . The
test for the viewer is to identify the 35 inconsistencies, errors or
contrasts in the painting and consider the importance of each in the
life of the learner. (Click on “School Daze” to learn more about the
painting)

I hope you agree that these three thought provoking, patriotic
paintings by Jack E. Dawson's are heartfelt expressions of America. |
