As the founder of USA Patriotism! and the father of a Marine veteran who served in Iraq . . . I feel that I must speak out about providing non-American enemy combatants the right to a civilian criminal trial.

I cannot envision the Founding Fathers ever agreeing to non-American enemy combatants wanting to destroy our beloved America . . . being treated like citizens with a civilian criminal trial. And I believe that the founders involved with developing our unique and sacred constitution . . . would have expressly stated allowing enemy combatants this “American right” . . . if it was intended.

Nor should it be a gray area either to be interpreted based upon political whims for whatever reason including for the perception of those outside of America.

Allowing non-American enemy combatants the right to a civilian criminal trial diminishes what it means to be an American and undermines the foundation of the constitution . . . We are the USA not the USW (United States of the World).

Our leaders need to remember that they would not be in their positions today, if it weren’t for all those who fought to keep America free . . . with so very many staining the ground red upon their ultimate sacrifice for country.

Then there is what these fallen heroes would say about allowing non-American enemy combatants the right to a civilian criminal trial...

Can you hear them too? . . . “A military trial!!!”
